Mark Zuckerberg said it’s "time to move on" from the idea of a cage fight with Elon Musk

Elon Musk  compared Mark Zuckerberg's Instagram to adult content platform. The comparison comes amidst an ongoing rivalry between the two tech tycoons, with Zuckerberg's Threads.Musk, who reportedly supports free speech, was upset with Threads for hiring ex-Twitter employees.
Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, two big tech tycoons, are at it again! This time, it all started with a tweet from a user named cb_doge on X (formerly known as Twitter). The tweet compared Instagram, which is owned by Zuckerberg, to a platform called OnlyFans. Now, if you're not familiar with OnlyFans, it's a subscription-based service popular in the UK, mainly used by people who create adult content.

Elon Musk has had a long-standing beef with Mark Zuckerberg's social media empire. But things really heated up when Zuckerberg announced a new site called 'Threads.' This site was meant to compete with Twitter, especially for users who missed the good old days of the 'old Twitter’, which basically means Twitter before Musk took over the company. On Threads, people can share text and links and interact with others' posts. The exciting part was that users could bring over their followers and account names from Instagram, which is part of Meta, a platform with over 2 billion users that includes famous brands, celebrities, and content creators.

Threads got off to a roaring start, with more than 10 million sign-ups in just seven hours, as per Mark Zuckerberg's post on his Threads account.

In July, Elon Musk got quite upset with Threads for hiring some employees who had been let go by Twitter. It's worth noting that Musk, who claims to support free speech, had previously apologized for firing these employees. In response to this, Twitter's lawyer, Alex Spiro, threatened to sue Meta Platforms (the parent company of Facebook) over the Threads platform. Spiro accused Meta of hiring many former Twitter employees to create a copycat app.

Recently, Musk offered Mark Zuckerberg $1 billion to change Facebook's name to "Faceboob". The offer is part of Musk's playful banter with Zuckerberg, which has included other unconventional proposals, such as offering to buy Wikipedia for $1 billion if they rename themselves "Dickipedia".

Musk has not given a serious reason for wanting Facebook to change its name, but he has previously criticized the company for its handling of user data and its role in spreading misinformation. It is possible that Musk's offer is a way to troll Zuckerberg or to make a point about the need for social media companies to be more transparent and accountable.

Zuckerberg has not yet responded to Musk's offer, but it is unlikely that he will accept it. Facebook is a valuable brand, and it is doubtful that Zuckerberg would be willing to give it up, even for $1 billion.
